Manual Machinist
Position Overview:
A manual machinist is a skilled professional responsible for operating and maintaining various types of manual machining equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and saws. They work with different materials, including metal, plastic, and wood, to create precise parts and components according to specifications. Manual machinists play a critical role in manufacturing and repair industries by utilizing their expertise in machining techniques and tools.
Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor manual machining equipment, ensuring the correct speed, feed, and tooling are used for each job.

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the required dimensions, tolerances, and machining processes.

Material Preparation: Select appropriate materials and prepare them for machining, including cutting, shaping, and deburring.

Tooling Selection: Choose and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and accessories based on the machining requirements.

Machining Processes: Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and sawing to shape and finish parts to the required specifications.

Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments, ensuring they meet the specified dimensions and tolerances.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on manual machining equipment, such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to machining operations, such as tooling wear, machine malfunctions, or material inconsistencies.

Work Documentation: Maintain accurate records of job orders, work performed, materials used, and production times.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials and tools.
Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a manual machinist or in a similar role

Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and saws

Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills

Knowledge of machining techniques and processes, including turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and sawing

Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges

Understanding of different materials and their machinability characteristics

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances

Basic understanding of mathematics and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)

Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Strong organizational and time management abilities

Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines

Welder
Job Summary:
As a Welder Fabricator at Advanced Precision Machine, you will play a crucial role in fabricating and welding metal components according to specifications. You will utilize your expertise in welding techniques and metal fabrication skills to produce top-notch products. Attention to detail, precision, and a strong work ethic will be vital to your success in this position.
Responsibilities:

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to fabricate and weld metal components.

Measure, cut, and shape metal using various tools such as shears, saws, and presses.

Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and arc welders to assemble and weld metal parts.

Perform welding tasks with accuracy, ensuring proper fitment and strong welds.

Conduct quality checks on fabricated components and welds to ensure they meet required standards.

Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to provide input on manufacturability and feasibility of designs.

Work closely with the production team to meet project deadlines and ensure efficient workflow.

Assist in the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment as needed.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator, preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.

Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.

Strong welding skills with experience in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.

Solid understanding of metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, and shaping metal.

Ability to operate and maintain various fabrication tools and equipment.

Familiarity with different metals, their characteristics, and welding requirements.

Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues.

Physical strength and stamina to handle metal components and work in a demanding environment.

Welding certification or vocational training in welding is preferred.
